Sloppy Joes
Try a twist on an old family favorite and cook these Sloppy Joes over coals instead of the stove top or oven. Equipment
- 12 - inch Dutch oven
- 30 coals, if using
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can (10.75 ounces) chicken gumbo soup
- ½ cup ketchup
- ⅛ cup mustard
- ½ medium onion, chopped
- 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 4 - 6 hamburger buns
Instructions
- In a Dutch oven, add 1 pound ground beef. Cook on stove top or with 30 coals underneath the oven until cooked through. Drain grease.
- Then add, 1 can soup, ½ cup ketchup, ⅛ cup mustard, ½ chopped onion, 1 can tomato sauce, and 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce. Mix to combine.
- If using coals, remove enough coals from underneath the oven to achieve a simmer. If using an oven preheat to 350℉.
- Cover with lid and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
- Serve on buns.
