Year-in and year-out, tiny Cordele, GA is named Watermelon Capital of the World for the sweetness and volume of watermelon that flows from there — there’s even a giant state of a watermelon slice to welcome visitors — along with a giant, decommissioned Titan missile that’s visible from the interstate and draws travelers from all over as they pass on Interstate 75. We had a lot of help filming this episode, especially from some of Cordele’s Watermelon Queens of all ages. Chip Carter and the gang take a break from the heat in this bonus scene from the show.
