You probably don’t get to see the flowers of farming the way we do. You’re usually looking at the finished fruit or veggie, not the lovely blossoms that made it happen.
We took a detour with Nat Bradford to talk about some of those flowers and the role they play in food and farming. We start with an okra blossom — one of the prettiest things you’ll ever see — and wind up talking about marshmallow… which actually comes from the marsh hibiscus, also known as the mallow!
