In less than a week we’ll all be heading to Tampa, FL by car, bus, boat, plane or train – whatever it takes to get to the Southeast Produce Council’s annual crown jewel event, the Southern Exposure tradeshow and conference.
Southern Exposure is the industry’s finest example of what happens when people with a passion for produce create a platform for networking and education. And the SEPC family feel makes it all the more special.
Here’s our handy guide to this year’s show, with this preview video courtesy of the Council.
Highlights
— The annual Power of Produce presentation from FMI and 210 Analytics, where you’ll get a look at where the industry has come in the last 12 months – and more importantly where it’s heading in the next 12.
— Keynote speaker Kurt Warner, who’s turned the NFL on its head a few years ago when he came from a minor league to lead the St. Louis Rams to a Super Bowl win and then took the Arizona Cardinals to another final. It’s a true rags-to-riches tale.
— The SEPC University educational sessions, headed by motivational speaker Kevin Brown, author of The Hero Effect and Unleashing Your Hero.
— The spectacular Friday night gala – dining, dancing and an always-fun costume contest.
— The Southern Exposure exhibit hall, where the rubber meets the road and deals get done, with retail and wholesale buyers from all over connecting with exhibitors at scores of booths.
The theme of the show this year is Produce: The Unseen Heroes. That’s something that really resonates with us, since we pledge in our national television series Where The Food Comes From to introduce the rest of the world to all the often-invisible passionate people who’re committed to keeping us all fed.
