Wayne-Sanderson Farms recently earned 18 safety awards at the annual National Safety Conference for the Poultry Industry, underscoring the company’s ongoing commitment to workplace health, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. The Company secured eight Awards of Distinction, the highest commendation, along with eight Awards of Honor and two Awards of Merit across 18 feed mills, hatcheries, and processing plants.
“Our values place safety at the center of what we do. Nothing is more important than ensuring our team members return home safely to their families,” said Pamela Roach, Chief Human Resources Officer of Wayne-Sanderson Farms. “These awards are a direct result of the leadership and engagement of our team members. I am incredibly proud of our employees, whose collective efforts make Wayne-Sanderson Farms a safe place to work.”
The awards program highlights employers that continually improve safety performance by establishing sound health and safety initiatives at the facility level. It recognizes sites that achieve exceptional safety benchmarks as part of an ongoing effort to reduce occupational injuries and illnesses.
Presented annually by the Joint Poultry Industry Safety & Health Council, which is composed of members of the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, the National Chicken Council, and the National Turkey Federation, recipients were selected based on multi-year injury statistics and a comprehensive review of written safety applications conducted by academic and industry safety professionals.
“Earning this recognition across so many of our sites validates the daily effort our teams put into building a world-class safety culture,” said John Horne, Vice President of Health & Safety at Wayne-Sanderson Farms. “Safety isn’t just a policy on paper; it’s an active commitment embedded in every employee, process, and facility across our footprint.”
