Investing in the Next Generation: Grimmway Produce Group Celebrates 38 Scholarship Recipients in 2026

For nearly 30 years, Grimmway Produce Group (GPG) has helped the children of its employees pursue their higher education goals. This month, the company recognized 38 recipients of the GPG Scholarship Program at an awards ceremony held during the GPG annual family picnic.

The 2026 scholarship recipients are pursuing studies in agriculture, healthcare, engineering, business, and the skilled trades, and will attend universities, community colleges, and technical programs across the country. Since the program began in 1997, Grimmway has awarded hundreds of scholarships totaling millions of dollars in support of employee families across the company.

“The scholarship program is a reflection of Grimmway’s long-standing values,” said GPG President and CEO Ken Silveira. “Many of our scholarship recipients are the first in their families to attend college, or receive a technical degree, which makes this program especially meaningful. I applaud these promising young people as they embark on their educational journeys and am honored to lead a company that has always supported employees and their families in direct and meaningful ways. By investing in their futures, we’re also investing in the ‘next-gen’ success of our companies and communities,” Silveira noted.

The GPG Scholarship Program is open to high school seniors who are children of employees and plan to attend a two- or four-year college, university, or trade school. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and are renewable for up to four years. Students with a GPA of 4.0 or higher also receive a laptop in addition to their scholarship.

“These students represent the kind of determination that strengthens communities,” said Dana Brennan, GPG’s Vice President of Corporate Affairs. “Through the Grimmway Produce Group Scholarship Program, we’re proud to support their next step and the opportunities they’ll have for meaningful jobs and community impact in the years ahead.”

The GPG Scholarship Program is one extension of the company’s 50-plus-year tradition of supporting the communities where its employees live and work. GPG’s unified approach to philanthropy, GPGives, aligns with the company’s long-standing philanthropic pillars (food insecurity, employee-driven engagement, and agricultural education) to provide essential financial and in-kind support to local families and community organizations.
